SCIENCE: Materials

 

We are continuing to look at materials in Science this week. 

What is the difference between natural and man-made materials?

Have a look at the PowerPoint to see why some materials are natural and why others are man-made. 

 

Can you go on a scavenger hunt? Sort the items you find into man-made and natural materials. Can you explain the difference? You could write or record a message to let us know what you found out. 

 

One more challenge that we thought you would enjoy…

Could you make a Beanstalk for Jack to climb using all natural materials or all man-made materials? 

What will you decide to use and why? Think about what might be stronger and easier for Jack to climb the Beanstalk. How tall can you make your beanstalk?

COMPUTING: 

 

This week we will be carrying on with creating pictograms. The children will be required to fill out the dice recording sheet first so they have 20 random numbers. If you do not have a dice at home you can use this website -

Once the recording sheet is complete, children will need to go to the purplemash website and go to their 2dos. Here they will find the 2count program where they can fill out the dice pictogram. Please ensure children save their work in their files so teachers can see their work.
