Hello and Welcome 

 

More than ever, extra funding is needed to provide more equipment, making learning more fun! 

Friends of Bushmead School is a group that gets together raising money while integrating parents from all year groups.  Give us a shout, get involved and you will be proud of the work you can do for the school.

 

We run an Egg Hunt, Christmas Bazaar and Summer Fun Day which are fun family days out and raise a lot of money for the school.  Parents also benefit from our fun and friendly Quiz Nights!  The children really enjoy the events especially for them, which include Disco Parties, Movie Nights and our well loved shops for Christmas, Mother's Day and Father's Day.  

 

With the money raised at these events, along with Grant Funding bids, we managed to raise a record breaking £28,000 during the last academic year (2018-2019).  This was made up of £15,000 + from Grant Funding bids and £12,000+ from FOBs activities and fundraising. It all adds up to make a great school even better!

 

The money raised provides the school with extra resources. In the past, iPads, stages for productions and PE equipment have been bought.

 

This last year we have spent the money on:

• sheds, storage and play equipment for the Lower School Playground
• play equipment, sheds, bikes and picnic benches for the Foundation Stage Garden
• an amazing new rainbow canopy for the Year 1 Outside Area
• a play-gym for the Upper School Playground
• library books
• books for the Foundation Stage and Year 1 and 2 book scheme
• school safety signs that you will see around the entrances to school to help encourage safe and sensible parking
• funding our outdoor learning projects this year, including our Bushmead in Bloom competition, support for Gardening Club and providing paint and paintbrushes to freshen up the Foundation Stage Playground, Amphitheatre background and fencing around the Pond Area. 
• ongoing funding commitment for Bushmead TV which you will see in the front foyer and on both playgrounds. 

 

It’s all done through volunteer work and everyone is welcome to join at any time!
