Thank you, to all our parents and carers who were able to attend our math workshop. The children really enjoyed sharing their learning.
Year 4 love books! We love to share books with our families of all ages. Many of us like to pile onto someone’s bed and share books. Sometimes, we all sit together in the kitchen or lounge. Wherever we go, sharing is the key. On a Friday, one child from each Year 4 class will bring home a bag of books. If your child is lucky enough to be chosen, we would be grateful if you would ensure that your child’s thoughts about the experience are recorded in the notebook. Happy reading, The Year 4 team.
Green Screen Performance- Children wrote , presented and performed their work. I think you will agree, we have some budding stars of the future.

The term will begin, with the children continuing to read, ‘How to Train Your Dragon.’ The children will then use the story as a stimulus to plan and write their very own dragon story. Towards the end of this term we will be exploring a story written by Michael Morpurgo called, ‘Coming Home.’ The children will be taught skills of expanding sentences, using adverbial openers and subordinate clauses. We will also work on skills of editing and re-drafting in order to continually improve the quality of or written work.
SPAG lessons will focus on adding prefixes to root words. Children will explore spelling the words as well as developing an understanding of what the words mean. A list of weekly spellings has been stuck into reading logs. Please remember to practise these with your child, ready for a weekly spelling test or dictation.
